I've been told that Peder Olsen Roligheden (b. 1793) and Inger Steensdatter Eishoug emigrated in 1853 with their son, Johannes Pedersen Eishoug; Johannes' wife, Andrea Gundersdatter Saug; and the latters' three small children, Gunder, Inger, and Kirsten. They left the Boe - Ulefoss area and settled first somewhere in Jefferson Co., Wisconsin, and by the 1860 Census in the Stockholm, Wisconsin area. I can find Johannes and Andrea (as John and Andrea Peterson) in various American records, but not Peder and Inger. I think they are likely buried in Jefferson Co., WI. Or maybe they never left Telemark. Can anyone out there help?

These are some of the families in my tree that imrated from Gjerpen, 1843 on, to Ashippun, Dodge County, Wisconsin. Looking for links to others, some have been lost. If you are an Andersen/son, Danielson-Baaserod farm, Olsen-Boe, who had roots in Dodge r Waukesha, Washington, Portage(Stevens Point, Wi. Hans Danielson came in 1844with wife Karen Pedersdatter. Andreas OlsenBoe in 1849, later the name became Anderson through his son Neils(Nels Andeasson or Anderson), who married Hans Danielson's daughter Anne Karine(Caroline), from this line united with Bowe of the area and later Chiritan in Theresa Wisconsin. I am looking for and have extensive information on many of these people. ALso anyone who had kin in Ashippun area. I used to live near there.

Searching for descendants or ancestors of Aslak and Aagoth Johnson from Rauland and Vinje respectively. One of their sons John who changed his name to Johnson came to Minnesota in 1881. We have information that says he settled first in Waseca, however, e does not appear in cenus nor do his children appear in birth records. They lived first with Gunnilds brother Knud Knudson. Some of the family went to Alberta Canada. Grateful for any help!!

I am tryng to find my grandmothers family from oslo. She was born in 1885 and emigrated in 1905 with 2 sisters. They settled in Revillo SD. Her obituary said she came from a family of 13 brothers and sisters. Her parents names were Halvor and Dorthea Mikk eson. Her name was Avilda Halvorson. She married John C Mogard. He died in 1923 and she remarried Albert Engebretson who was related to the Mogard families in Selbu, but not to her first husbands family who was also from Selbu. My ggrandfather was Peter Johansen Mogaard married to Brynhild from Norway. They emigrated to Minnesota date unknown. Any help sincerely appreciated.

Looking for g.g.grandmother: Torbjør (Ingeborg) Johnsdatter Wellene b.1828 in Lårdal. Would like to know if Wellene is indeed the farm name & any knowledge of Ingeborg/her parents/siblings, etc. I know no other information on her except she is listed i Bø church records emigration 6/2/1854.

Kjetil Jonsen Runnigen died in the Civil War with his Uncle Per Torgeirsen Såheimsmogen (Peter Thompson Mogen). Per was with the 15th Wisc., the famous Norwegian Regiment. Kjetil's regiment remains a mystery. Anybody have any information. Kjetil was t e son of Herbjorn Jonson Runnigen of Ridgeway, IA. Herbjorn had two brothers at Harmony, MN. Hello: I am inquiring about information regarding Ole Aslakson. Ole was born in Vinje, Telemark 24 december 1823. He emigrated to the United States in 1861. He was married to Anna Teigen. They settled in Willmar, Kandiyohi Co., Minn. Ole was the first president of the board of trustees of Willmar Seminary School. They had 4 sons: Svennung, Asbjorn, Aslak, Andrew and two daughters. The children took he name Nasset as their surname, which we believe is the farm name from Vinje. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Looking for Torger Johnson Heimdal and his brother Neri Johnson Heimdal. Neri (and his wife Sigri) immigrated about 10 years before his brother, and Torger immigrated about 1862. Torger's wife, Bergit died on the ship coming over, and their children wer adopted out. They all settled in the North Beaver Creek area of Jackson County. Unable to locate further information on the brothers (or other siblings) and their parents (John Johnson).

Anne Tovsdatter Kaase was an infant in 1860 when parents Tov Østeinsen Kaase and wife Astrid Kjitilsdatter brought her to Ridgeway, IA from Tinn. The parents moved to Harmony, then to Coulton, SD. Anne grew up and became Anne Austin and then married Øs ein Olsen Böen (Austin Estensen) at Harmony. They moved to Cyrus, at Stevens County, MN, in 1901. They were my g-grandparents. Østein Nielsen Böen and wife Aase sent their young sons to America as pioneers from Tinn in 1842 and 1851. Then in 1860, at age 70, he became a pioneer himself.
